IMPORTANT! Temperament categories. We have a very considered system designed to protect all dogs and provide the most fun.

GREEN My dog is great with people & dogs and loves to party! They play well and will easily adjust to being a pack member. ORANGE My dog is rock solid with people, and is generally friendly with other dogs but can occasionally growl or display other negative behaviours. RED My dog is good with people but very unpredictable with other dogs. They often snap or react aggressively. They require only one or two furry friends under constant supervision. PURPLE My dog can’t go with other dogs and may have challenges with unfamiliar people. GREY My dog is a senior or injured and needs to be kept in the low exercise group.

Vaccinations

Your dog must be vaccinated for Distemper, Hepatitis/Adenovirus and Parvovirus (commonly called DA2P), Bordetella (Kennel Cough) and Rabies. Proof of current vaccinations from a vet must be provided to Doggydo on an ongoing basis.

Flea control

A vet-recommended flea control like Advantage Multi or Revolution is also mandatory.

Neuter status

You have to let Doggydo know if you are registering a dog that is not spayed or neutered.

Aggressive breeds

Doggydo will not accept aggressive breed types including Akitas, Dobermans, Bull types, Pitbulls, and Rottweilers on the premises. This is an insurance restriction.

Liability

The dog owner is solely responsible for all expenses incurred for any harm caused by their dog(s) during their stay at Doggydo Kennel. This includes, but is not limited to: bites, bodily harm, to humans or to other dogs, article/property destruction, or to the property itself. The owners will not hold Doggydo Kennel or their employees/workers liable/responsible for any problems, expenses, negligence, accident, incident, or death that might occur and the owner(s) agree to be solely responsible for any harm their dog(s) cause.

Muzzles

Any dog that shows aggression towards humans or other animals will be muzzled.

Collars & leashes

A well-fitted collar is required. When arriving or leaving Doggydo’s facilities, the owner must have the dog/s on leash.

Licences

The dog owner will be solely responsible for any and all fines levied if their dog(s) licensing requirements are not valid.

Public hours

We are open for pick-up and drop-off at the following times only: Monday to Friday- 8:00-9:00 am 4:00-6:00 pm 8:00pm sharp Saturday and Sunday- 8:30 am to 4:00 pm (CLOSED 12:00-1:00 pm) 8:00 pm sharp

Emergency vet visits

Dogs will be taken to the nearest Veterinary Hospital (Van Isle Vet) in the event of any accidents/emergencies. The owner of the dog/s hereby authorizes Doggydo to act on their behalf with this vet or any vet chosen by Doggydo. The owner will be responsible for all charges.

Vet expense limits

Please place the maximum dollar amount that you would authorize us to spend at the vet on your behalf for your pet.

Failure to pick-up

Dogs not picked up seven days after their pickup date (and without correspondence from the owner) will be taken to the SPCA at the owner’s expense.

Missing items

Items left with dogs may not necessarily be returned. We will do our best, but occasionally items do go missing.

Payment due

Payment in full for all services are due upon either the drop-off (daycare) or pick-up (boarding) of the dog.

Billing for boarding

Billing for boarding is not based on a 24-hour period or the time you drop off or pick up your dog. It is based on a per-calendar date rate. Eg. If you drop off on Thursday and pick up on Monday, no matter what time you pick up or drop off, it is still 5 days of boarding as it crosses 5 days. We do not combine boarding and daycare rates as they are completely separate services.

Extras (upon request)

Shampoo ‘n’ rinse ($20)* End of boarding clean-up bath. *$25 if over 60lbs. Doggy spa ($40)* Includes bath, nails, ears & brush. *$45 if over 60lbs. Walking ($20/half hr per day) An extra forest walk for dogs booked as a ‘lone wolf’.

Cancellations

There is a 48-hour cancellation policy in effect throughout the year except for Spring break, long weekends and the two weeks either side of the Holidays, when 2 weeks' notice is required. If you don’t email/call to cancel, you'll be billed for 15% of the service booked.

Transmittable diseases

In the interest of the health of all our guests, please do not bring your dog to Doggydo if you suspect that they have kennel cough, an eye infection, any transmittable diseases, etc. In the event that a dog is found to have a communicable disease/parasite, it would be very difficult to say for certain which dog brought it in, and whether it was contracted prior to or during their stay. Although we would feel horrible if a four-legged guest contracted a disease or parasite at our location and we will do everything in our power to prevent this including sanitizing all common areas, runs, and kennels regularly and requiring vaccinations, etc. in the event that this does occur, the owner will not hold Doggydo or their staff liable/responsible for any problems, expenses, negligence, accident, incident or death that might occur.

Wild animals

Doggydo at 4704 Forbidden Plateau Rd, is an acreage located by the Puntledge River and Comox Lake. Therefore, there are cougars and bears occasionally seen in the area. Although Doggydo will try their very best to keep all dogs safe and happy by not allowing the dogs out unsupervised at dawn or dusk, never allowing a dog out at night, having light motion sensors around the property, etc., serious accidents, incidents or even deaths may occur resulting from a cougar or bear attack. If one of these tragedies does occur, the owner will not hold Doggydo Kennel or their employees liable/responsible for any problems, negligence, accident, incident or death that might occur.

Accidents / death

Doggydo is an open-concept dog care facility, meaning that the dogs will be playing and socializing with other dogs for much of the time, unless the owner requests otherwise. The dog owner realizes that minor cuts, scratches, and fights are inevitable. Although Doggydo will try their very best to keep all dogs safe and happy, serious accidents, incidents, or even deaths can happen. In the event that one of these tragedies does occur, the owner will not hold Doggydo Kennel or their employees liable/responsible for any problems, negligence, accident, incident or death that might occur.
